Tlaxcala Bullfight 2

On the sameday afternoon, Rogelio and I went to see the real Bullfighting in the same bullring where I had my butt poked. It was my first experience to see the bullfighting. The stadium was packed with people who were smoking cigars and wearing cowboy hats. Rogelio told me that it's the common fashion that we see in bullfighting games. Bullring With a grand applause, bull enters. After making him run around for a while, the person on the horse stabs the bull on the back of their neck to weaken them. After the stab, few assistants would stab another 4 swords to make them bleed. Bulls are color blind so the red color does'nt really make them angry. (to them it must be a gray cape) The flapping movement of the cape makes them so. Estocada. When at the final stab, everyone keeps silent. To honor the toreador, people would throw hats, capes and wines (in leather bottle) inside the ring. Toreador would walk around the ring to throw them back to show them his gratitude. Next day, with Rogelio's family, we visited the bull ranch to experience the bullfighting. Well not actually to fight but to experience the cape-handling. First Rogelio showed me how to use the cape. Olé! It looked easy from the outside, but when I faced him, I was scared as hell. He weighs about 180kg and the professionals have to fight bulls that weighs from 450-550kg. Bull's average velocity is 20-30km/hr and their acceleration is extremely fast. Red cape(capote) looks light but it asctually weighs 12kg. I could'nt hold it still for a long time. Rogelio, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for giving me this tremendous opportunity. It was truly a lifetime experience.
