On the edge of the world

One of my must do missons was to meet the penguins.
They were devilishly cute.

Schools in Wanaka

I was able to join the classes in local primary school (elementary school) and pre-school (kindergarten) for a few days.
I was very lucky to meet Sam and Jen who invited me in into their classroom.
They taught me a lot about kids.

Sam: What did you do over the weekend Bonnie? (Bonnie is a sweet little 4-year-old girl)
Bonnie: um, I..sit on my mommy's lap…and I was on the airplane...and toilet and..um..
Sam and I: ???
Sam laughed and told me
“It’s a big story”

Laundry day

My last laundry day was 2 weeks ago....no wonder I had no clothes to wear.
Anyway, it feels good to be clean.

Wanaka

From Queenstown, I took a bus and headed north to a town called Wanaka.
It’s a small laid-back town with a glassy calm lake on front.
The lake reminded me of my days in Michigan.
And I decided to stay here for a week.

Franz Josef

World Heritage site Franz Josef Glacier, which is located along the west coast of South New Zealand. From the village, you could see the scenery with mighty cascades of ice tumbling down a valley and I was overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of its mass.
My little voice said, " I have to go there".
I had to join the tour to walk on the glacier but after doing it, I thought it was worth every single penny.
