Empanada

In Argentina (and other countries in southamerica), empanadas are probably the cheapest and the most popular food you can find, like tacos in mexico, ramen or onigiri in Japan....
According to my friend, the name comes from the verb empanar which means to wrap or coat in pastry. This stuffed bread always attracts me because it looks like gigantic fried dumplins plus they are always cheap and good. (averagely 2 pesos=70cent each)
I don't know how many empanadas I ate so far....at least 80?

I love the sound!) -sonrisa (smile) -gratis ( free) -caramba (expression of surprise ) -opa( wow) -sublime(sublime) -agradable(pleasant) -mariposa(butterfly) -paraguas (umbrella. I think it's lot better than umbrella. para-agua, for water)

Feria De Mataderos

マタデーロ市場

ブエノスアイレスの中心地からバスで一時間ほど行ったところで、毎週日曜日に開催されている市場。何度も他の旅人から勧められたので、気になって訪れてみた。
マタデーロという名前はマタドールに似ているなあと思っていたら、やはり近くに大きな畜殺所があった。

市場は１０分も歩けば一周できてしまう程度の大きさだったが、売られていたものの内容の濃さに驚かされた。ここの市場で売られているものは全てが手作り。道端では殺されたばかりの牛が炭火で焼かれ、手作りのアクセサリー、革細工、雑貨などが、信じられないような値段で売られていた。音楽ももちろん生演奏。おじさん、おばさんたちはそんな音楽につられ、昔の思い出を語り合うようにゆっくりと踊っていた。

もし道端で「幸せはどこですか？」と聞かれたら、思わずここを指差してしまいそうなほど、この市場は穏やかな雰囲気につつまれていた。
